Bought a computer from a garage sale and got it home and hooked it up and it has a Windows password on it. How do I get passed it. There has to be a way of I just lost my money.

Hi:

The only way to get the PC to work again would be to reinstall W7.

There are two ways to do that...

1. If you can find and read the W7 Home Premium product key on the PC's case, make your own W7 installation media.

Download the W7 x64 ISO file from the link below (toward the bottom of the page).

https://getintopc.com/softwares/operating-systems/windows-7-home-premium-free-download-iso-32-bit-64...

Then use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable.

After W7 installs, you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.

Since the ISO file is a retail file, and the product key is OEM, you may have to use the Microsoft automated phone activation system to activate Windows.

2. Order factory recovery media from this vendor since HP no longer sells it...
