HP STREAM 8
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
I had my tablet laying around (not usual) and the screen got broken. I assume it was pressed on. The pressure cause the screen to splash. Now the screen is not touchable meaning it will not work using the touch screen. Can I find a replacement screen? If so, how much and where? I want to fix it myself if possible.

Hello Jeth1995

HP does not carry parts for the Stream 7 or 8 tablets anymore.

They also made a limited number of Stream 7/8 tablets, then discontinued them.

You would have better luck hunting online to find another tablet on eBay or such. The cost for a used Stream 8 would be about the same as buying a new screen, without the hassle of the labor involved.

Sorry.

Thank you. I appreciate it. Can someone else propose me another solution while I am waiting to get a new tablet? How can I use this one?

Is the screen ok visually, just not touch usable? If so, connect a mouse and keyboard to it with an OTG usb adapter and a cheap 4 port hub.

IF you cannot see the screen because its fractured, then there is nothing you can do.

I can see everything on the screen. The only thing is that just a tiny part of it is touchable. I have a Bluetooth keyboard case that goes with it; I try using it , but it got disconnected. It also touches itself meaning internally it is taking commands, e.g. it may open a window without me touching it. What is the next generation of HP tablets running Windows OS?

You could disable the touchscreen using an attached USB mouse/keyboard so that it does not issue its own stray inputs due to the screen damage.  Also the Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptor works with the Stream tablets in case you wanted to attach it to an external display.

Unfortunately there is no next gen version of the Stream tablet unless you count the Stream 11 laptop.

Stream 7/8's were discontinued.

As of the moment I write this, HP is no longer making tablets (at least for the consumer public) including Windows and Android systems.

They have started selling the Elite X3 smart phone, but who knows how long that will last.

If or when they change their minds, we will not be informed until that product is released.

What ever is still available on store shelves is it. :Crying:

So if its a low cost Windows tablet you seek, you will have to look to other brands.

Thank you. I will try that.
