Hi @Steve24550,
Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. :). I understand that you need assistance regarding the printer printing with your android device. I will be really glad to assist you here. 🙂
Great description and superb diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂 It is paramount to assist you as you are a valuable HP customer. I take it as a genuine pleasure to assist you.
- Did you try to download the All in one remote app and check?
- Did you try to download the HP print service plugin app and check?
Please let me know the complete model# of the printer to check its product specifications correctly.
- Anyway for a start, please try all the prescribed steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-c3100-all-in-one-printer-series/1146511/model/114... to print using OTG cable.
- Please perform all the prescribed steps. Do not use Eprint app as it will be retired shortly.
- Please use the HP all in one remote app or the HP print service plug in app after downloading both from the google play store.
- Please check this document for mobile printing solutions: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-c3100-all-in-one-printer-series/1146511/model/114... and perform all the required steps.
- The product specs link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-c3100-all-in-one-printer-series/1146511/model/114...
Please perform all the prescribed steps patiently to resolve the issue. If the printer is compatible, it will definitely work for you. Try a different OTG cable also. If it does not work, then it may not be compatible.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a superb week ahead. 🙂
