Hp Stream 8 Tablet
Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)

i DELETED THE RECOVERY PARTION OF MY HP STREAM 8 TABLET WHILE TRYING TO FRESH INSTALL WINDOWS 10 ON IT. MY TABLET TELLS ME THAT THE BOOT DEVICE IS MISSING AND THAT I SHOULD  INSTAL AN OS ON IT. I HAVE TRIED RESTORING IT EVEN FROM THE STREAM 7 HP RECOVERY USB I DOWNLOADED WHICH PREVIOUSLY USED TO DO JUST FINE BUT MY TABLET WONT RECOGNIZE THE RECOVERY DISK IN THE BOOT DEVICE OPTIONS.

HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN I TRY DIAGNOSING THE HARD DISK WITH THE HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI it tells me that:

                                                  smart check: NOT INSTALLED

                                                  short DST : NOT INSTALLED

HAVE ALSO TRIED REPLACING THE BIOS BUT NOTHING IS ACTUALLY WORKING AND THIS IS BOTHERING ME. kINDLY ASSIST ON A WAY TO HAVE MY TABLET UP AND WORKING MORE IF THEIR IS A WAY I CAN CAN HAVE IT UP AND RUNNING DIRECTLY ON WINDOWS 10. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY I NEED IT WORKING EVEN IF ITS ON WINDOWS 8

Windows 10 fresh install instructions are here if you need them.

If you are having trouble booting a USB:

  • Try booting USB in another computer.
  • Disable Secure boot in the BIOS
  • Delete secure boot keys in the BIOS
  • Try another OTG adapter
  • If using a USB hub, it should be powered
