My Windows Defender is off and when I try to turn it on I get a message that says it is set via Group Policy. I have tried to get to Group Policy through search, command prompt, and new text document but can not get there through any of them. If any body has any other suggestions I would be grateful for your advise.
Thanks

Hello,
Try the next solution:
- Open the Notepad.
- Type the following:
- Spoiler
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender]
-"DisableAntiSpyware"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Policy Manager]
- From the Type: drop-down list, select All Files (*.*).
- In the File name: field, type for example Enable_Windows Defender.reg.
- Click Save.
- Double-click the create file, and then click Yes, and then OK.
- Restart the computer.
- Try activating Windows Defender again.
Please do not hesitate to contact us in case of need.
Best regards,
