HP Stream - 14-ax040wm
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

I’m planning on selling my laptop but I can’t get it back to factory settings. Every time I’ve tried its told me I didn’t have enough storage to reset everything. So then I deleted over 6 GB of storage. It still wasn’t enough. I’ve deleted every app and file I can think of. I don’t know what else to do. Someone please help me.

Hi

You could try and make an install media and do a fresh install of W8.X, and I would extract the Licence Key and write it down first.

KeyFinderInstaller may help....

and also this link to help any prospective purchaser.

In fact the Troubleshooting area or the Manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05227771) may help you before you sell.

If you cannot clear enough space using the MS Disk Cleanup, then the USB may be the only way.

If in doubt please ask.
