Hi Everybody!

After the April 2018 W10 update was installed, my computer just went nuts. First ofcourse the desktop disappeared and I could solve it. But now I hit the wall with graphic card as it says error Code 43 and I get notifications: "Display drivers failed to start". I tried to uninstall and reinstall probably all posible version of drivers back to 2016 and nothing...

Other issus I have since the update has been installed is that computer is much slower and "Sleep" option has disappeared and not I can only shut dorn or restart the computer.

Thanks for help!

You're very welcome.

You need to be seeing the Intel HD graphics adapter.

If the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is listed, you will not be able to:

Adjust the screen resolution to its optimal setting

Adjust the screen brightness

Enable graphics acceleration

Put the PC in sleep mode.

My recommendation to you would be to back up any files you need, and clean install W10 by using the Media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

The tool will allow you to make a bootable W10 installation flash drive (you will need a 4 GB flash drive for this).

The software will work with the W10 product key in your PC's BIOS and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page.

Hi:

See if this works...

Download and save the ZIP file version of the graphics driver from the link below...2nd file down on the left.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27847/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10

Right click on the file and select Extract All from the list, and the file will be extracted into its driver folder.

Once that is done, go to the device manager.

Click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.

Click on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on Have Disk, and browse to the unzipped graphics driver folder>Graphics>igdlh64 (setup information file), and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

Thanks for you answer. I tried this like 10 times before and didn`t help. I followed your solution and it is still the same problem.

However, I notice that in device manager it still appears as Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 and not as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. Is there a way to delete all graphic drivers from my system and just leave Microsoft Basic Display Adapter?

Yeah... this is the solution I was trying to avoid, but I think it will be the best solution. Thanks once again.

Anytime.

Let's hope that fixes the problem.

Please post back and let us know if it did.

Hi,

I clean installed W10 and everything works fine and fast.

That is great news.

Glad that clean installing W10 resolved the problem for you.
