HP slate 17 all-in-one

Hi everybody,

I am desperately trying to recover factory reset on a tablet HP slate 17 all-in-one since I forgot the pin code.

Unfortunately, the button combitation (volume up + on) with the tablet turned off does not work, even if I hold both button at the same time during 2 min

Any clue of what I could do ?

Thanks in advance!

D.

Hello, @Dudufoo - Greetings!

Thanks for reaching out! I'd like to help 🙂

I see that you would like to reset your HP 17 tablet. Try the steps below:

  1. Turn off your device and, if a battery powered device, plug in the AC adapter.
  2. To boot into the Recovery menu, press and hold the volume down key and then press the power button. Hold the volume down key until the HP logo is displayed.
  3. Move the arrow up or arrow down key to highlight wipe data/factory reset, and then press the enter key to confirm the selection.
  4. Move the arrow up or arrow down key to highlight Yes — delete all user data, and then press the enter key to confirm the selection.
  5. Move the arrow up or arrow down key to highlight reboot system now, and then press the enter key to confirm the selection.

Go to http://bit.ly/2x1Ye7i and check steps in pages 34 -36 for more details.

Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!

Cheers 🙂
