Hi,

Since I reset the HP 50G, I am sometimes getting fractions as answers (numbers over numbers, etc)

What is the exact step by step setting to return it to a numeric value answer?

Eg.

Instead of answer = 1/4.90

I should get answer = 22.5

My apologies for all these questions, but this calculator reset really put me on the back foot with the calculator settings, for the first time in 8 years!

Being at work, I don't have time to fully peruse the manual...

Cheers

FG

Hi. Thanks.

It has since been pointed out to me that it is a Mode | CAS Mode setting and to check the "Approx" setting.

This delivers the values but leaves symbols as is, such as Pi, etc.

Cheers

Hi!, Flash_Gordon:

NUM.JPG

You can configure your HP50G, for use all you needed, with the global variable 'STARTUP', stored in HOME directory.

If it exists, the STARTUP variable is evaluated when the calculator warm starts. Objects placed on the stack in the STARTUP routine cannot be expected to remain on the stack after the calculator starts.

Is very easy, for install.

Single Example:

« # 2000h 60 * 'TOFF' STO

→NUM ................... »

'STARTUP' STO

This example is for Turn off, the HP50G in 60" after, if you didn't use and the format expressions expressed, in decimal.

STARTUP is run, each time, the calculator is RESET.

Note: I'm write, to you, my STARTUP ...

« PINIT MEM DROP # 2000h 60 * 'TOFF' STO 153 ->KEYTIME 2 ->LANGUAGE 257 MENU 41,1 ASN 256 MENU 41,2 ASN 1512 MENU 42,1 ASN 260 MENU 41,3 ASN { # 3885938604010FF4h # 0h # 50410C0A100218h # 0h } STOF 15 HOME TVARS SORT VARS SORT + ORDER OPENIO PINIT CLEAR »

If you needed other help, please write.

Kind Regards !.

If you wish symbols such as Pi to be numeric, in MODES -> CAS also check "_Numeric" setting.

If you wish to leave them as symbols, and only evaluate to numeric at the end of your calculation, then use "->NUM" at the end of the calculation.

Regards.
