HP 10 G2

I have an HP 10 G2. Recently when I plug the USB in to charge it I will get an image of a battery with a slight bit of blue coloring in the image. It then disappears from the screen and the same image comes back but this time there is orange at the bottom of the battery image and it is sloshing back and forth. the 1% will show up above the image. It just loops like this for hours and hours. I looked online for an answer and someone suggested that over time the micro USB port gets loose and to use needle nose plier and slightly pinch the plug right in the middle. This worked! I was able to charge the tablet again. Now over time. we are back to the original looping 1% battery and no charging. I tried several different cables and it doesn't work at all. So I am stuck?

Any suggestions?

I bought a new battery to see whether the issue lay with my original battery, and it worked fine for a while before it also succumbed to the issue. Now the new battery no longer charges even after repeating the above process. My original battery seems to charge temporarily after I repeat the above process. Notepad++

I have further noticed that my AC light flashes continuously while plugged in, whether the laptop is on or off, which it never used to do. Malwarebytes

Also, note that the battery never charges, now matter how low the available remaining power gets - my problem doesn't appear (to me) to be a feature designed to prolong battery life. FileZilla

I would really like to fix this problem permanently but am completely stumped. Cheers!
