HP 10bII+

Hi

I have removed the back cover and removed the two little screws but still am struggling to get the batteries out? Should I be using a pin or something to try and pop it out?

I changed it a few years ago and cant remember now.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Next to the batteries are small holes, highlighted in the picture below.

Use for example a jewellers screwdriver or similar object to lift the batteries out.

Hi!, @Belinda_1:

Welcome, to Forum!. :generic:

There's no capacitor in there to retain memory. None of the HP ARM-based calculators have a capacitor for memory retention. You've got at best a few seconds before you'll lose memory if you remove both coin cells in any of these machines.

Hi,

Just to clarify:

  1. The factory programmed functions of the calculator wil never be erased/lost if both batteries are removed.
  2. This is not a programmable calculator, so no user programs that can be erased.
  3. the only data that can be lost are settings (e.g. payments per year or number of display digits) and values of most recent calculations (e.g. N, PV, FV, PMT etc. of last TVM calculation)
  4.  The best way to prevent the loss of user data is to change the batteries one at a time.

Best regards.
