HP 8 G2 1411

I was having performance issues & attempted to do a factory reset. My Hp 8 G2 is now stuck on the erasing screen with the green android. I saw a similar post & followed the directions there...no change.

The steps I followed: Charge for 20 min, then press power & volume at the same time. Per the instructions this should have brought me to a 'reboot' screen, but I'm getting the same android with a spinning tummy. What is the next step to resolving this issue? None of the troubleshooting pages I have reviewed appear to address this exact issue.

Hi @Kalixxa,

As I understand you are having issues with your HP 8 Tablet stuck on factory reset. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

Let's try to perform a Hard reset on the tablet: A hard reboot can resolve many startup issues. Press and hold the power button for more than eight seconds. After the tablet fully shuts down, wait a few seconds, and then press the power button to turn on the tablet.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to HP Tablets - Performing a Factory Reset on Your Tablet (Android KitKat, Jelly Bean) - Click here

If the issue persists, I would personally suggest this could be a hardware issue, I would recommend you contact our HP phone support for available service related options. If your product is Out of warranty, please remember to choose the paid options to get the phone support number.

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone numberCase number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

Keep me posted for any other assistance,

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.  Have a great day!
