HP Pavilion 10-k012ca x2 Detachable PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I've just upgraded to Windows 10 The Fall Developers verison 1709 and everythign was working except MS EDGE.

I logged in today at the Tablet is stuck upside down and no longer rotates.

From what I can see, it most recently loaded:

2018-04 Security Update KB 4093110

2018-04 Update for Win 10 KB 4093112

I'll begin to troubleshoot configuration parameters.

I did find the following:

Windows 10 Microsoft Suport

The CNTL Alt Direction arrows did re-orient the screen, making the keyboard useful again.

Need to keep digging to find out how to fix this ...

Hi! @Piper724, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you have auto rotate issues with your laptop.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.

As you mentioned you have auto rotate issues with your laptop.

You can try updating multi-sensor driver on your PC and check if that helps.

Update the multi-sensor driver Driver from this link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp68001-68500/sp68464.exe

Also, You can update the drivers using HP support assistant.

Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant.

Also, try changing few settings:

Open Settings App and go to System > Display.
Find Orientation and choose Portrait from the menu.
Your device should automatically switch to portrait mode.

Go to Control Panel> Display>Change Display Settings and then make sure that the "Allow the screen to auto-rotate" is selected

Refer this article to know more information about Switching Between Tablet Mode and Desktop Mode.

Hi There Mr. Robot.

The Model is in the Subject line.

( HP Pavillion 10-K012 ca X2 Detachable )
This is a Tablet that originally came with Windows 8.

With the currecny upgrades by Microsoft to Windows 10, it seems that drivers are not keeping up with OS upgrades.

This symptom began after the Windows 10 Fall Creator's upgrade to v 1709.

The HP Support Assistant software package has not identified new Drivers for the Tablet.

I'll have a look on the support site today as well, given I also notice that the USB port now corrupts file transfers to USB drives > 8 GB.

This is new bevahior as well in Windows 10.

Hi Folks,'

I have just visited the HP Support Page / Drivers for this platform.

Unfortunately the drivers there are dated 2014 & 2015.

It appears that there is no longer any development or upates for this platform.

😞

I wonder if Debian will load on it ?????

Microsoft as an operating system has no longevitiy for devices greater than 4 to 5 years

@Piper724, Thanks for your quick response and time.

I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us.

As you mentioned after upgrading to windows 10 you have auto rotate issues with your PC.

Did you try the steps recommended from my previous post?

Did you try updating the multisensor driver suggested from my previous thread?

Please update the driver suggested and other steps suggested from your previous post and check if the issue persists.

Also, as you mentioned when you transfer the files to an external flash drive the files get corrupted.

Have you tried checking with a different flash drive?

Try formatting the flash drive and transfer the files again and check if the issue persists.

1. Right-click My Computer and select Manage.

2. Open the Device Manager and find your USB drive under the Disk Drives heading.

2. Right-click the drive and select Properties.

4. Choose Policies tab, select the "Optimize for performance" option and click OK.

5. Open My Computer, select Format on the flash drive.

6. Choose NTFS in the File System drop-down box.

7. Click Start button and wait until finished.

Also, try running an antivirus scan on your PC and check if your PC is affected by virus.

Please mark my post as accepted solution if you feel I have answered your query.

Let me know if this helps!

Take Care! 🙂
