Hi folks,
My Tablet is currently completely dark.
No lights, not boot.
When I inspect my power cord ( USB end ) I notice that the connector-plug is wobbly adn there is a copper wire sticking out the end by 2 mm or so. ( Officially fallen out as it't on my desk right now 😞 )
I notice that the power adpater / connector only has a 2 to 3 pins in it, which is a lot less than a standard USB Calble.
I have never been able to plug my Tablet into a standard USB power bank.
Is the HP Power Adapter for my model proprietary ?
I cannot use any other power source ?
Thanks

I can't beleive it !!!
Using the test above, I plugged in a Black Berry Playbook Power Supply.
Unit dead, no response
I then unplugged the battery and plugged the USB power source with no battery.
Result: Unit still dead.
I then plugged the battery back in and then the USB power supply.
Pushed the on button for 4 seconds, and the unit came back to life !
The Tablet has booted into Win 10.
From what I can see, the Unit was in a Zombie State and would only recover under 0 volts.
This does indeed prove that this is a standard USB port.
Moreover, the battery shows 100 % charged.
So the Unit was charging all along.
Everything looks good at the moment.
Issue Solved !

Second Question.
I cannot find the replacement part number on the HP site.
The origina part number for the power adapter is 6032B0081701
This does not appear on the HP site.
Any ideas on how to source ?
Thanks

Hi there,
I validated with Customer Support the original Power Adaper is no longer available.
This is the replacement part number :
791102-001
Available in Canada through:
Depot International – Canada at 1-888-330-8885 or visit them directly at 2831 Bristol Circle Units 1 & 2, Oakville, ON L6H 6X5
The socket is labeled as a Power Adapter port, not USB.
Looks like it's proprietary.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
Fabulous analysis. Spectacular research of the power supply details before posting. Kudos to you for that.
I read that the replacement part no. for the power adapter is 791102-001. I did some further research and found that it is a 15W adapter with USB cable.
Also, this adapter is compatible with a wide range of HP products. You can check at this website www.partsurfer.hp.com
Alternately, there are some universal power adapters available that can be used. We recommend using HP adapters always.
I hope this information helps. Feel free to keep me posted for any queries. Cheers! 🙂

Hey folks,
I've tried using several different Power Adapters, all Mini USB format.
No response from teh Tablet at all.
I've also unplugged the battery and tried that as the Unit is designed to switch from Battery to auxiliray power when present, but it's still dead.
So, I'll try picking up the official power adapter to see if this makes a difference.
If not, then there is something wrong with the USB connector for external power.
