Example: Pavilion dv6700
Microsoft Windows Vista

I have had this laptop for a long time now. I don’t typically use it anymore as I have a newer one. I do, however, need to open this laptop to obtain important photos etc. Problem is..I forgot my password due to not using it for awhile. Is there anyway to unlock laptop without restoring everything?

@Dezziiree

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

And, also you can remove the hard drive to recover your photos and file this can be done by a local tech store.

Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
