As the title says, I'm in a differential equations class this semester and my instructor wants us to graph direction, or slope fields, and I'm sure that the HP Prime calculator can do this; I'm just lost as to how to get it to do it. Any help on this is appreciated, and knowing if there is anything that this calculator can do for a diff EQ class is welcome too. Thank you in advance.

Hi,
I suggest you ask in the following forums:

For interest, here are some HP Prime program repositories:

Best regards.

To the original post - Hopefully you have your answer by now, but for those of us still searching, I believe I found an answer --> The Geometry App has a cmd menu entry called Plot. On this sub menu is an entry for Slopefield. Selecting it starts the editing process for filling in the HP function plotfield(). Syntax: plotfield(Expr, VectVar, [opt]).
Note: I believe I read somewhere that the calculator has to be in CAS mode to do slopefields.
Here is an example found elsewhere on the Internet - plotfield(x*cos(y),x=-5..5,y=-5..5).
For us newbies, here's a step by step
1 - Turn on the Prime.
2 - Press CAS if not already in CAS mode.
3 - Press the Apps button
4 - Select Geometry - you will get graph screen and a menu called Cmds
5 - From Cmds select (6) Plot
6 - From the Plot menu select (6)Slopefield
7 - You will see a text box labeled Enter Expression and it is prefilled with - plotfield(
8 - Enter your expression and bounderies and tap OK
9 - You will see your slopefield - at least it works with the above example.
There is another way to get to the plotfield function. After being in CAS mode and selecting the Geometry App, press the Symb button. The title of your screen should read Geometry Symbolic View. Again, you will see the Cmds menu on the screen. Tap it and choose (5) Plot, then select (6) Slopefield. It then gives you a much longer commandline for entering plotfiled parameters. After entering in your parameters (like in the above example) tap OK. Then press the Plot button. You will see the slopefield for your differential equation.
Note to HP - Please document with some examples the usage of the Prime calculator for differential equations. Thank you.

I would like to add, after step 8, if you want to have the normalize option / function enabled. Press the Toolbox button (or the orange letter B button), then click (on the touch screen) the Catlg button, and then to quickly go to the Normalize option press Alpha key + Orange letter N, then scroll down and select Normalize).
Hope this helps people who were struggling with finding how to enable normalize. By the way, the toolbox button works in many different menus / commands.
Greetings,
Kas
