Unfortunately I cannot use my tablet HP Slate 17.
I have followed advices ro Reeboot and Restart several times but I cannot get rid of the message "unfortunately google play serve has stopped". The result is that the tablet get blocked and i cannot therefore use it for any purpose.
Anyone has an idea what the problem is and how it can be solved?

Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting "unfortunately google play serve has stopped" error on HP Slate 17. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
- When did this issue start?
- Did you do any hardware or software changes?
Meanwhile
1. Remove the updates for your Google Play
- Go to the menu–>settings–>apps–>all–>google play store–> uninstall updates, then reboot your device.
2. Remove the cache for your Google Play
- Go to the menu–>settings–>apps–>all–>google play store–> remove cache, then try to run your google play again. It is better to do a reboot.
3. Try to delete and re-install Google Play
- In some cases, delete and re-install resolve this issue.
4. Try to delete your google account and add your google account again
- Go to the menu -> settings -> account remove your current google account then add it again here.
Let me know if that helps.
Cheers.

I have this issue on 2x Slate 17 I purchased late January 2017
ie they are both still in warranty, despite HP website saying they are not.
I have supplied my original invoices to HP.
From what I can work out, the issue is with Google Play latest version.
If you uninstall back to factory default as supplied on HP tablet, it works.
However, it then auto updates & stops working.
Once auto updates, it then auto updates other apps & stops they keyboard from working, as well as google+ & a few other things.
With no keyboard, the device is rendered useless.
I am currently in discussion with HP who think its Google problem, while I say it is theirs, as they are stopping me from turning off auto update - which can be done if the device can be rooted.
If I learn anything, I will let you know. Otherwise I can see me submitting my case to a legal challenge.
HP are by far the worst incompentent 'support' staff I have ever dealt with.

FORGET THE BELOW - IT DOES NOT SEEM THERE ARE LATER ANDROID OS's
INSTEAD THEY LIST THEM ALL BUT WITH THE SAME VERSION & DATE FOR EACH RELEASE!
INCOMPETENCE!
Ok
It seems to be doing an update.
You need to copy the file to an SDCARD
I faffed around for ages trying with USB Stick
You need to goto recovery mode by holding down the DOWN VOLUME button + holding the POWER ON button
Then release once you get android splash screen
Scroll to SDCARD Update using volume button & POWER BUTTON as ENTER Key
Select the UPDATE ZIP File & away its going.....
