HP Slate 7 has stared to shut down whenever it feels like. Was in the middle of a charge and came back to find screen blank. Pressing & holding on/off button did not restart it but rebooting through pressing volume & on/off. Selected re-boot system now & it came back on. Within a few minutes of this, it turned itself off again. Followed the same process and this time it stayed on for an hour or so.
Plenty of battery in it. Checked for system update and says it is up to date but will not run a check. States last check for an update was 30/08/2017.
Device is used daily. Charging port replaced about 2 years ago.
Is it coming to the end of it's life & I need a replacement or is it a case of going down the factory reset route - which I don't want to have to do?

I appreciate all your efforts and expertise in troubleshooting this issue
Unfortunately you might have to perform a complete Factory Reset to ensure it is not an issue with the OS
Please backup your data and perform the Factory Reset
