My HP Stream 7 only works when it is being powered via the USB port.
I use the HP Assistant and checked the battery and it says that the batteries are fine and 100% charged.
The battery icon in the Win10 taskbar also shows that it is 100% charged.
But as soon as I unplug the USB power, the tablet shuts down. It will not boot up without USB power - the screen will flash very briefly but it will not boot (classic no battery power symptom).
I bought the device from Amazon US, but I live in Australia. HP Australia refuses to give me any help because they say that the product was bought overseas. They've even blocked my emails.
I have tried to reset the device by powering it on while holding the volume down button. A menu comes up, and I choose F11 and then a blue screen message appears:
Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
Error code: 0xc0000225
I can't use a recovery USB, because I need the USB to power the device.
Help!

If you have not already, try holding the volume down button down while powering up to enter the BIOS setup menu and then press F2 to run diagnostics and then run the battery component test.
As far as resetting it, there are OTG adapters that can charge the Stream while providing USB ports, I have one for my Stream 7 that I got from Amazon for around $10 or $12 US.

Thank you for your help.
I have performed the battery component test from the BIOS set up and it also reports that the battery is fine and 100%.
As to the OTG adaptor that is both data and power - thank you for the tip. I see something like this on ebay - is this similar to the cable that you have? It's a Y shaped cable/adaptor.
Also, what is the most recent BIOS version number for the Stream 7? My Stream 7 is currently on F.0A. I have been able to find F.0F on the web (not from HP though) but not sure if that is the most recent. I'm hoping that a BIOS update may 'shock' my table into fixing up the battery issue.

F.0F Rev.A from Oct 16, 2015 is the current BIOS version, if the tablet is not booting, it is probably an issue with your Windows installation that would not be fixed by updating the BIOS but you could try it.
