Psalm Zire 21
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a Palm Zire 21 that works and I am stuck trying to get the 64-Bit Driver to install and the Palm to sync on two 64-Bit Windows 7 Lenovo Laptops. I tried to follow Wyre's instructions here on this HP Forum to make the Palm Zire 21 compatible for syncing with 64 Bit Windows 7, which you can read here:  https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Palm-and-WebOS/64-Bit-Windows7-8-8-1-10-USB-drivers-for-Palm-Desktop/m...

Let me break down my progress to see if you have advice for either one.

LENOVO LAPTOP #1:

First, I installed Palm Desktop 3.0.1 successfully and it works. I tried to install Palm Desktop 6.2.2 in addition to it, so I downloaded version 6.2.2 and ran the InstallShield, but I was unable to complete the installation because a message came up saying: "Unhandled Exception. Error Number Ox80040702, Description: Failed to load DLL:HSAPI"

Next, I tried to install the ACEECA Driver that syncs Palm files with 64 Bit Windows 7 systems. I Downloaded and Extracted the Driver, DVR_WINX64_USB_GN4-GN5. As the instructions predicted, I plugged in my Palm Zire 21 and got an "error" message. Then I followed the installation instructions and got a screen message saying "Palm Handheld Installed." But I don't know where in the Device Manager to find the driver for "Palm Handheld" that I installed.

Next, I pressed the Hotsync Manager in my Startup Menu, but nothing happened. Then, I pressed the Hotsync Manager version 3.0.2 Hb in my Taskbar tray in the lower right corner of the Desktop, but didn't get any good results or syncing menus from it.

Next, I tried Hotsyncing by pressing the Hotsync button on my Palm Zire 21 handheld palm device, and a message came up on my handheld palm saying: "Hotsync Problem: The connection between your handheld computer and the Desktop could not be established."

What should I do?

LENOVO LAPTOP #2

First, I installed Palm Desktop 6.2.2.  I have not installed the "Legacy HS Fix" because I am not sure I need to install it to use version 6.2.2 with a Palm Zire.

Second, I downloaded and Extracted the Aceeca 64 Bit Drivers. But when I plugged in the Palm Pilot, I was not able to install the Aceeca Device Driver. In the Device Manager, I see "PCI Device" with a yellow exclamation sign under "Other Devices", and the yellow sign doesn't fix itself with the "Update Driver" button.

I n the Device Manager menu, I went to: "Action > Add Legacy Hardware".

I clicked SHOW ALL DEVICES. Then I clicked HAVE DISK. Then I went to the extracted ACEECA DRIVER Folder. Then it used the .INF file in that folder to install a Device under Device Manager called ACCESS HANDHELD. But there is a yellow exclamation sign next to it in the Device Manager. When I click the Device and then click Properties, it says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" in the Properties Menu.
So the Palm Hendheld Device is plugged in the laptop using a USB, but it is not automatically syncing.
Third, when I click the Hotsync Manager in my laptop's System tray to get it to work, it gives only two options: SETUP or INSTALL. Isn't it supposed to install automatically. Clicking Install in the Hotsync manager brings up a new mini menu called "Install Tool" that says "Files Listed Below will be Installed on your handheld the next time you perform a Hotsync". But I don't think that this is what I am supposed to select in order to make the device hotsync in the first place.
