In accounts, I select my email account and it says SYNC OFF.  How do I turn it on?

I will take a look at my product loan Slate 7 Plus and see.

I do not see any check boxes for sync for the GMail, Google+ accounts I use. You may need to add a Yahoo account like WyreNut has to turn it on literally.

My Slate 7 Plus syncs when I press sync now. It may also sync when I use Gmail or Google +.

I just checked in the HP Product loan Slate 8 Pro and there are also no checkboxes for automatic sync with Google accounts.

So the answer to your query may very well be that you can sync with your accounts when you click on sync now in your Google account or when you access Google Play if you have an account there. In Google Play there are settings you can use to request autoupdates and notifications.  Yahoo email on a slate does add the ability to turn sync on or off.

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!

You didn't mention which device you are asking about, but I'm looking at a Slate 10 HD right now.

I see my Yahoo email account (Settings app/Accounts/Email), and under it is says "Sync is off".  There is a checkbox at the right of these words, and when I tap it, sync turns on.

Do you see something similar?

I am using the HP Slate 7 HD.  No, there are no check boxes at all.

Does anyone have an idea how to turn SYNC ON?  I am using my HP Slate 7.  Of course, I go to settings...and can see my email account listed with "Sync is OFF".  To sync anything, I have to do it manually, by "touch to sync now" on everything individually (app data, browser, calendar, chrome, contacts...).  Seems cumbersome and I SHOULD be able to turn sync on.

Do I have unrealistic expectations? 🙂
