When in the bios I get F1 System Info. F2 System Diagnostics. F9 Boot options. F11 HP Recovery. F12 Network Boot & Enter to continue startup if I press F10 nothing happens

Hmm... well if you cannot even get into the bios settings, I dont know what else you can do.

It appears as what the other thread pointed out, something on the motherboard has went south.

I cannot do anymore for you here. Im sorry.

Rapidly pressing F11 takes me the windows recovery boot screen. Pressing F8 gives me the options to run in safe mode etc

But when I press F2 & rum system diagnostics everything passes including the motherboard??

This is just a guess as I have no way of knowing whats wrong on your system. But if you can get inside and pull the battery and coin battery to manually reset the bios, perhaps that would help.

But I can only guess at this point.

And just because the board passes the HP diagnostics, does not mean there is not something wrong with it.

Ah right maybe that might be an option I guess. Am I getting into the right screen then? I don't need to get into windows recovery etc?

You want the Bios configuration setup F10. Not the recovery partition.

You said you tried the rrunning ecovery partition also and that was not availble, correct?

HP Recommended
No I can get into the recovery partition which shows the safe mode options etc but wasn't sure if that's the one I wanted but now you confirmed I need F10 just waiting for the bootable usb to finish then I'm gonna try again

OK then. I dont know if it will work though if you cannot get into the bios to disable Secure Boot.

IF not, then theres nothing more I can do here.

OK will keep trying thanks for your help
