I cannot open my Slate 21 inch because of the oobe message.  I cannot close the message to proceed.  I have done a reboot and a factory reset with no results.

Hi! @Pamayer, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you have issues booting into your AIO PC and you are getting OOBE error on your PC.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your tablet?

Please provide the product number of your tablet to assist you better.

As you mentioned you have issues booting into your AIO PC and you are getting OOBE error on your PC.

Try the steps recommended below.

  • Please power off the HP Slate.
  • Disconnect all devices connected to it and also disconnect the power cable.
  • Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds and then release it.
  • Reconnect all devices and power cable and power it on.

Also, try the steps recommended below.

  1. Turn off your device and, if a battery powered device, plug in the AC adapter.
  2. To boot into the Recovery menu, press and hold the volume down key and then press the power button. Hold the volume down key until the HP logo is displayed.
  3. Move the arrow up or arrow down key to highlight wipe data/factory reset, and then press the enter key to confirm the selection.
  4. Move the arrow up or arrow down key to highlight Yes — delete all user data, and then press the enter key to confirm the selection.
  5. Move the arrow up or arrow down key to highlight reboot system now, and then press the enter key to confirm the selection.
