Am a Palm address book user no Hotsync. Have encountered the common problem when all addresses randomly disappear. Have saved them regularly to a CSV file. Have recovered many times no issues. This time the addresses and names do not format properly -- HELP!! Have removed and reloaded the software numerous times -- still not working.

Unfortunately I should have done this sooner but better late than never kind of thing. Chris at the PalmDr is amazing. He took over my computer fixed my data loading problems in less than an hour. He was patient and totally professional. Not to mention his fee was reasonable . My alternative was to manually load my data in another app which would have taken foever. Hats off to Chris.

Hi,
Normally .csv file is a text file. Please copy it as text file otherwise you need a software to load it such sa Excel program.
Regards.

Thanks for the info but the problem is not that. The file itself was created from the export utility within the Palm software. I have done this numerous times in the past. When the file mysteriously vanishes I simply import the most recent export I created and all was good. During the latest failure I imported the same type of file created by the Palm software and it does not format properly when I bring it up. If anyone can help me load the ,csv file properly I'd be happy to pay for their time.

optiworker,
Have you tried importing your CSV file into Gmail Contacts?
I have imported all my Palm contacts to Gmail and use this daily.
For my Private Palm contacts I use Lastpass Secure Notes.
I use my Palm desktop only as a backup on Windows 8.1
If I needed paid help I would use Chris Short the PalmDr
