Has anyone else's Touchpad got a loose USB/Power port ? When I plug my cable in to charge up, I have to waggle it around a fair bit to make contact and start charging. Same with USB drive, it take a bit of fiddling to get the connection to to my PC to work. Ive only had it a week. Thinking I might have to get it replaced.

The only issue I have seen is caused by the TP case I have it in. Sometimes it gets in the way of the plug. Nothing else... Yours is the only complaint I have seen, so hopefully an isolated issue. HP does not need the problems the NOOK had....

I've had my TP 15 days now. I've been heavily testing EVERY feature advertised by HP and reporting back to HP all the shortcomings and false claims by HP about this TP that don't function.
Since day one, I've had intermittent "failure to connect" with the flimsy HP USB cable, both in charging mode & in USB drive mode. I've been praying that it was the crappy cable provided by HP verses the mini-USB port on the TP.
I've connected my HP to 4 different PCs and this problem has been persistent with ALL 4 computers, utilizing USB drive with HP's flimsy TP USB cable.
What's the point in returning the crappy HP USB cable for another crappy HP USB cable?
REDESIGN a hearty HP USB cable for the TP, manufacture it in the U.S.A. instead of by prisoners in communist China, then SHIP ME ONE ...... PLEASE

False claims? Have you actually proven they made false claims? Please provide a list of their false claims. If you are so unhappy and feel lied to then why haven't you sent your TP back?
I have 4-5 USB mini cables from various other devices and the HP cable IMHO is no more flimsy than any of them.
I have had my TP for about a month now and I agree that it is far from perfect but I have not found any false claims. In fact I was initially very unhappy with the TP and even got an RMA to return it. I changed my mind when I realized that I was expecting it to be a small thin computer and that most other tablets have many issues and those tablets have been on the market a lot longer.
Would I buy another HP TP....the jury is still out but I am not sure I would buy any other brand of tablet either!

YUP false claims. Go read the HP advertising for the TP prior to when it hit the marketplace last month. I've been dealing with HP direct, ten days prior to my joining this forum, and you are today benefiting from my work, and work by others, as nearly all OUR reported shortcomings were addressed in the 3.0.2 system update.
I've been programming mainframe computers since 1969 and PCs for 30 years. I was a Microsoft outside beta-tester for Windows versions 1, 2 & 3, Word version 1 & Excel version 1. Nearly all the initial features in the TP that didn't work, that I reported, should have been discovered long long ago by beta testers OUTSIDE of HP. I seriously doubt that HP had legitimate outside beta testers, PRIOR to finalizing the user's manual and releasing the TP into the marketplace.
I also have perhaps a dozen mini-usb cables from numerous GPS, HD Digital Camcorders, Digital Cameras plus other devices. NONE repeat NONE are as thin and flimsy as the one supplied by HP for the TP. NOTE: If the TP's USB cable was NOT flimsy, then WHY is HP replacing it ???
Unlike you, I only expected the HP TP to meet it's original basic specifications & capabilities, and NOTHING ELSE. When I compare the original HP advertised features of the TP, to the buying criteria that I had for purchasing a Tablet, the HP TP shipped in July is seriously lacking.
The 3.0.2 WebOS update solved many of the TP's initial problems. We hope the next system update solves the remaining glitches, many of which have been described in this forum. I'm compiling a list of features to recommend for the third system update, these aren't urgent needs, but are wants. Perhaps I will have to wait for the next hardware version of the TP.
As far as all those basic apps for the TP that have yet to be released ...... I prefer to dream that they are debugging/ beta testing them prior to being released, so I don't have to spend more hours complaining to HP

Please list the false claims. I ask this because I did read the advertisements and the specs and I do not see anything that is blatantly false. Yes there are features that do not completely work as advertised but I would not call that a false claim. If that is your definition of a false claim then the HP TP is a false claim in its entirety.
I am still curious as to why you are not sending the TP back and purchasing another brand of Tablet. You seem very dissatisfied and frustrated with HP and with the TP, so why keep it?
As far as the USB cable I think declaring it to be flimsy because it is slightly thinner than your other mini USB cables is baseless. As I said before I have 4-5 mini USB cables from other devices and at least two of them are within 5-10% of the thickness of the HP cable and one of those is thinner. Without specs and performance testing data you are making a biased observation leading to a baseless conclusion.

The TP has the potential for being the BEST tablet presently on the market. My frustration is with the kids at HP and NOT the TP.
Why send it back, HP's WebOS Dudes have so far incorporated corrections into the last 3.0.2 system update, for nearly all the shortcomings that we have identified. The remaining problems require HP collaboration with Facebook, Skype, Comcast, Amazon and others, so we are willing to give them a LITTLE more time. BUT these kids at HP should have resolved these problems LONG BEFORE they started selling these TPs.
We expect that HP will have these major problems resolved within 45-90 days, so that NEW visitors to this forum will be clueless as to what we are discussing today.

This thread is about a possible loose USB port. Let's keep it on-topic, and leave the rants about supposed "HP false claims" for other threads. Thanks.
For the record, my HP-supplied micro USB cable works without errors, and appears to be no different from any other micro USB cable I own. The port on my TouchPad still feels quite tight.
I do believe it is within the realm of possibility to damage a port or cable by accident. Nothing implied, just stating a truth.

What about the possibility of these HP USB cables being damaged because we repeatedly followed HP's instructions, verses the correct instructions from this forum concerning "ejecting" the TP ???
