I just bought the Miracast Wireless Display Adapter for my HP pavilion hp-21 all in one compute.
I connected the Miracast dongle to my TV and connected the USB cable for power and alfter many tries I finally got
the menu to appear on my TV screen.
However, I now get the error message that says "Wifi is abnormal and I should restart my device.
I uplugged the device several times and re-connect it to the HDMI port but the same message appears.
I installed EZcast on my PC and I get a menu which is all black with two buttons but clicking on either on does nothing.
So I can't get to step two to project my computer screen, photos, movies etc to the TV.
Can anyone help me. Microsoft want $99.00 to try to fix the problem but I doubt they would know what to do.
I installed the microsoft display adapter on my desktop but windows 8.1 never finds the adapter. I've tried dozens of times with no luck.
Help please

Hi,
The following link shows the specs of your computer:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04485576
It use AMD graphics (combined with the processor) and this will not work with Miracast. As mentioned above, you need supported video graphics.
Regards.

Hi,
What is the model/product of your " HP pavilion hp-21 all in one compute". You need:
- Windows 8.1 operating system
- PC with the following:
- Supported Intel graphics
- Supported Intel® Chipset
- WiFi adapter that supports Miracast
- Latest Intel® Graphics Driver installed
- A display (e.g. TV) that supports Miracast or a TV paired with a TV adapter that supports Miracast
Does your computer have all the above requirements ? Normally WiFi card is the killer.
Regards.

My all in one computer is Pavilio hp-21-2019 AIO A4 6210
Product No J4W18AA
Chipset is SoC (System on a Chip)
VGA AMD Radeon (TM) R3 Graphics
I believe EXCAST is compatible with Miracast receiver. It shows Ecast on the TV screen so it must be getting
a signal from my computer.
I would like to see this device working.
When HP tried to update the AMD Graphic driver, it caused all my thumbnails to turn black and I had to
reinstall windows 8.1 from recovery feature.
Thanks

Thank you for your replies.
Microsoft has it's own microsoft wireless display adapter for about $60.00.
Do you know if it would be compatible with my HP-21-2019 all in one computer?
Would I have the same trouble because of the Video graphics?

Hi,
I actually use Chromecast and my children also use Chromecast at their houses. The device works on smartphones, tablets and computers.

I finally tried my Miracast Dongle on three laptops (windows 8.1 and windows 7) and it worked perfectly. The conclusion is that my pavilion hp-21-2019 just won't work with this
gadget. I'm mad at HP because it's their fault that they chose the AMD graphics card
and (SoC) system on a Card chipset.
which doesn't work with this Dongle and they want to charge me a fee to try to make it work because they don't take responsibility for their mistake.
I'm mad at Microsoft also because they want to charge me $99.00 to work on this problem when it's their windows 8.1 that isn't compatible with the Pavilion chipset and graphics card. Microsoft should come up with a free fix and not try to charge me a fee to fix what they should have already fixed.
At least it's working on a laptop so I'll have to be thankful for that.

MIRACAST PROBLEM REALLY SOLVED
About a week ago I plugged my Miracast Wireless Display Adapter into the TV and kept getting this error message;
"Wifi is Abnormal please restart your device" I asked all the HP experts what this meant and I was steered in about 17 different directions with no success and I read everything I could find on the net with no solution. So today my daughter told me to turn off the TV and turn it back on and that cured the problem and it's working on all computers now. Such a simple thing to do but none of the so-called experts could make that suggestion.
Now my daughter should be assigned the Super Expert on the HP Forums.
I guess these Wireless HDMI devices are so new that many folk havn't figured out what's going on.

Update to those who may be reading this after the fact...
Originally AMD did not support Miracast technology but according to AMD, by the first half of 2013 they did make their new products compatible.
The web page stating requirements by Intel do not reflect this fact (of course) so it can be misleading when searching for info. AMD’s Wireless Display is the Real Deal
