I just purchased Touchpad and a sleeve case with magnet in the flap for closure. Can the magnet damage the internal hardware and/or the screen? I've googled this topic and seem to get various different answer. I'd like to get some answer from HP if it is possible. Thanks in advance.

I suppose it really depends on just how strong the magnet is.  I used a magnetic flap holster for my Pre for two years.  It never hurt my Pre.  I don't think weak magnets should affect the TouchPad in any way.  Just make sure you don't rub a strong magnet all aroud the area of the storage memory on the TouchPad, then you can kiss the OS and apps goodbye!  But in all seriousness, how strong is the magnet?

It's just two small magnets in the flap. I'm not sure what the rule is about linking to a product page or review of it. But, it's not MRI strength or anything. Just strong enough to keep the flap closed.

I'm sure it's fine then.  I wouldn't worry over it.  There's lots of folks over at PreCentral who have the magnetic cases and I haven't read of any troubles.

thanks for the reply. I was just little worried b/c i had the tablet on top of the case and it was messing with wifi signal. At first I couldnt figure out why websites and app store didnt load for really long time. I figured out it was the magnates and thought maybe it was doing something more than just messing with the wifi signal.
