@Topher34, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Are there any blinking lights on the PC?

Perform a hard reset on the computer, refer to the document HP Notebook PCs - How to Power Reset your Laptop  for help.

Tap the Esc, key upon powering the laptop and see if you can get to the startup menu. If you cannot access the startup menu, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your PC.

Hope this helps!

No there was no lights flashing. The screen just flashed once and the speaker made a crackling sound. But I got it working. I think it was just static build-up that had to be discharged
