Hey there! @Sylvie13, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!
I understand your PC is unable to detect MicroSD HC card.
Don't worry I will try to help you out.
Have you tried checking with different SD card or SD card readers?
What is the size of SD card you are using on your laptop?
Please Please download and install SD card reader driver on your PC and check if it helps.
Link to update SD card reader driver.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC and install the latest drivers on your PC and check if it helps.
Refer this article to know how to use HP support assistant.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Hey there Mr. Robot,
The size of my card id 8GB.
I have downloaded the SD card reader driver and now I can see a new folder called Local DIsk (Z:).
When I click on it to open it I have a message that tells me I don't currently have permission to acces this folder.
I click on continue and have another message that says I have been denied permission and in order to gain access I need to use the security tab.
It is asking me to rename the folder, which I have called Micro. Whether I click on OK, or Apply, the message tells me I still need to provide administrator permission to rename this drive...
Need some more help please!
Thank you very much,
Sylvie

Hi @Sylvie13,
Thank you for replying,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
I reviewed your post and see that now after downloading the drivers for your SD card reader you are able to see the folder but not able to access. Here I would suggest you give the permission from the Security tab.
Right click on the Z drive - select Properties - Click on Security Tab - Click on Edit - select the account and then give full permission. Click on Apply and then OK
For more details, please click here
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any further assistance.
Regards,
