Elite X2 1012 G1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is anyone else having issues with hardware on the Elite x2s?

I have 2 of these (work and personal) and experience the following issues :

Issue 1 (Both tablets): Audio stops working. Tablet is turned on from cold, or comes out of sleep/hibernation and all audio is gone - appears as though there is no soundcard installed. All latest bios/firmware/audio drivers installed. Only way I've been able to get around it is to go into bios and run audio sound test. This usually sorts it first time but can take more than one attempt.

Issue 2 (Both tablets but far more frequent with one of them) : Touchpad stalls out for a few seconds, you can be moving the curser around fine and suddenly it will become totally unresponsive. Comes back to life on it's own after maybe 3/4 seconds.

Issue 3 (One tablet only) : Webcam on the front-facing camera (one pointing towards me) will not auto focus. Will display items approx 2/3 inches from the lens perfectly, anything beyond this is out of focus.

Again I have all firmware & drivers up to date.

These are expensive devices - both of mine have these issues, so i presume I am not the only one?

I have about 20 of these that I'm getting ready to deploy to our sales team and they all experience the same audio issue. Seems like it started after the last windows update from the end of September.

I have one as a loaner from HP, and have seen the audio disappear twice after Windows updates.

A simple reboot brought it back each time.

A reboot does bring it back sometimes, however there are many times where the computer needs to be rebooted 3-4 times before the audio returns. After a few more reboots the problem comes right back..

Simialar experience with mine - but a simple reboot won't bring it back, I have to go into Bios, go to component test and test the audio. Works fine then for another while. Between JPerry621 and myself that's around what, 22 of these and all of them have the same issue? That's no coincidence.

I work for a company that just order 100 of these.

The first ten we deployed never had this problem becasue we did not install the aniversary update.

Once the aniversary update was install that is when this problem starting occurring(no audio, shows no internal audio card present).  I have now deployed about 25 with the aniversary update and all do the same thing.  I have tried so many things to solve this and to no avail.  And as other people states usually one of four solutions fixes it but then it may happen again.

Please HP you guys must be aware of this what the hell is going on with internal audio card(Conexant ISST Driver )....Please release a new audio driver there is something wrong with the current one.

At this point our employees use these for demos and I may be forced to deploy these with out the anivesary update.

After this problem first occured I went through and reinstalled all the drivers and Window's updates to try to resolve this. It still was unable to fix this. However, after struggling with the problem for almost 2 weeks I made sure Windows had all its updates and figured I would take a look at the driver again and reinstalled the latest Conextant driver from HP's website. 15 restarts now and the audio problem has not returned. I'll give you guys an update if the problem returns.

I noticed an updated version of Connexant drivers also, and I had the same issue after install. However it has only happened once. I'll keep an eye on this also and report back.

Jperry621 did you have any problems with touchpad on any of yours?
