I have a 2009 Nissan Maxima without the nav system (but with the bluetooth cell phone steering wheel controls).  Getting it set up and paired was no problem - the Nissan's LED screen showed the signal strength and approximate battery life remaining.  So I go to the store, do my thing, get back in the car and go home - but the LED screen doesn't show any connection items.  WTF?  I look in the Bluetooth menu, the only things there are 1) Bluetooth On, 2) Your phone is now discoverable, and 3) Bluetooth Handsfree (my Nissan connection - I'm assuming, because there's a little picture of a car by it).  But I don't see the checkmark after the Handsfree, just the "thinking" circle, and it just sits there, eventually not connecting.

I haven't tested any calls from the phone when the Bluetooth was connected, but I don't want to have to "turn on Bluetooth when you get in the car, turn it off when you leave the car"....I can't say if there was static or dead air or whatever when making a call.

I don't know if this is a Nissan problem or a Palm problem, but I got my phone 2 days ago, and if what I've been reading in other threads is truly the case (Pre problems with Nissan/Infiniti), this is a deal-breaker and it's going back.  My Blackberry Curve never had ANY problems connecting, it was "set it and forget it".  I left the Bluetooth on, and when I got in the car and started it up, my phone always connected.

Too bad though, it's a great looking phone and I was just getting used to the OS.  Hopefully the Blackberry Tour will be better (that was my other choice).

If anyone from Palm reads this, you have approximately 2 days to give me a definitive answer on what is going to be the solution to this problem.  If not, you'll have to wait 2 years to attempt to win back this consumer.

Sorry, didn't see the "mother-thread" for this problem - I'll be posting this in that thread as well.
