Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand the HP x2 battery light is flashing and it doesn't power on,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help you, although, to provide an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern:

Did you have any power surges or lightning storms nearby before this issue occurred?

Did you check if an alternate adapter is working with the computer and a different wall outlet?

While you reply, here are a few things you should know:

Check the AC adapter:

  1. If the computer does not start after charging the battery, remove the battery and connect the AC power supply to the notebook.

  2. Verify that the battery power LED glows, then attempt to start the computer.

If the LED still does not glow, either the AC adapter has failed, or there is a bad connection between the adapter and the system board.

If possible, connect a different AC power adapter to verify that the adapter is the problem or contact HP for support.

Hi sorry for the late reply,

basically new battery no change, it remains flashing when the battery is removed, just to clarify this is a tablet not a laptop so power is a little different.

i am not sure if the tablet should power if their is no battery in place

what happend was the tabelt was fine then it got fully discharged and now  the light only flashes their is power coming from the charger and also power in the battery so they appear to function correctly

cheers

@kbekla

You've done a remarkable job performing the steps suggested earlier, great work 🙂

And don't worry, as we should be able to fix this up with a few more steps and I'll be with you until we ensure this issue is fixed.

The HP Pavilion x2 Detachable Premium Laptop PC is considered a laptop though it splits into a tablet.

that said, If the battery was completely discharged and then the issue occurred,

Did you charge it for over 8 hrs or overnight and then attempt to turn it on? as that normally works.

If the issue persists, you could attempt a factory reset if the computer powers on shortly but doesn't reach the desktop: Click here for details.

However, if none of the above works, it's best you contact HP to setup a repair/replacement order (Free if covered by the HP Warranty)

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number to obtain a case along with the phone number.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.
