Hey so recently a family member has passed away he was a 16 year old boy, we went onto his computer to see if we can find any pictures or anything he had wrote just for keepsake. But we are given a prompt saying “ Enter Power-on Password” we have no idea what the password could be and we get 3 chances before it gives us a * symbol

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Did you try to contact our HP phone support for assistance?

 

As I understand there is a message - "Power on password" on your screen and you need assistance with the same,

 

You would have to Contact HP for a hardware service as the motherboard may require a tattoo/Bios Flash.  
 

Any other way of unlocking the BIOS is not authorized by HP.
