So I started using my DVD player in my HP Pavilion and one day I closed it while the player was still running. When I opened it again, it had started updating and I let in finish. After the update, the DVD player would make a really loud fan sound and wouldn’t play the video automatically so I had to do it manually. To fix that problem I looked up a solution. The solution was to uninstall and reinstall Cyberlink Power Media Player 14. After doing that it said turn off the Pc, and now it’s resetting. So I have 3 questions.

1) will all my files like photos and  stuff be lost?

2) can I stop the reset at all?

3) will resetting fix my problem?

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

It depends. If it's a Windows 10 Reset then your files will still be there and Windows 10 files will get reinstalled

If it's a System Recovery, then everything will be wiped off

You can refer to these links

System Recovery : https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04758961

Reset : https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289

Resetting could fix the issue if the problem started after an update

Thank you
