HP Pavillion
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
I am trying to reset my HP Pavillion tablet to factory settings due to a password that can not be remembered. I’ve gotten to the screen to reset the PC and to remove everything. I then select “Fully Clean the Drive” option. After several minutes it states “Additional free space is needed on the drive where Windows is installed. Free up some free space and try again”
Please help

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you're trying to reset your HP Pavilion tablet to its factory condition as you have forgotten the password to login. I read that the reset does not complete and a message appears saying "Additional free space is needed on the drive where Windows is installed. Free up some free space and try again”. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Please let me know the exact HP tablet model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
  • How are you trying to reset the HP Pavilion tablet? are you using the recovery partition or the USB recovery media?

You could have attempted steps from this HP article to reset or change the login password in Windows. These are simple steps that have helped a lot of users.

Alternately, you may try to perform Microsoft Push Button Reset.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
