Hello, I am having some troubles with my Hp Envy 8 Note and need some assistance as to how I type a code to accept a change to the secure boot when there is no way I can type any code at all, the keyboard isn't working or the touchscreen because the tablet isn't getting past this message as soon as I turn it on. How can I fix this please

@Kazagill,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to type the code to change the boot options.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

Why are you changing the secure boot option?

Are you facing any issue with the computer?

Are the keyboard and touchscreen work when otherwise?

Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

.

Meanwhile, as you have mentioned that you are unable to use the touchscreen and the keyboard, I recommend you try using an external keyboard (USB) and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If the solution provided helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. Your feedback counts!

Take care.

Cheers!

Hello The_Fossette, thankyou for getting back to me regarding this issue. I have another post on this forum regarding upgrading the Envy 8 Note with Windows 10 and insufficient storage space with everything removed. If you would like to check that out it may give you more information regarding this issue and how it come to be. I am now between a rock and a hard place because 1. I don't have access to an external Usb keyboard without going out and purchasing one and 2. I apparently need a Usb hub as well because I am needing to boot from a Usb stick to do a clean install of windows. so I will need the keyboard and Usb stick plugged in at the same time.
The keyboard and touch screen were working perfectly before changing the boot options.
Regards
