Any linux experts here.  My laptop which is a cousin of the spectre x360 registers touch but pinch to zoom and finger navigation does not work.  Tried xinput following instructions but did not fix problem. Tried enabling everything in flags following instructions for google-chrome enabling touch.  Did not work either.   Any solution for the soectre would probably work for me.  Wondering if I have to activate the touchscreen somehow.

Hello @spb37

Thats one you really need to ask the makers of what ever flavor of Linux you're using.

HP forums dont support Linux.

I can tell you that on my Spectre X360 that I recently got rid of, the touch screen pinch and zoom worked in the photo viewer, but not on any web browser, document or anything else.

Using Mint Serena 18.1 Cinnamon.

Figured out the problem.  Scrolling works with two fingers.  Pinch to zoom is delayed moreso with firefox than chrome. Also works best with two fingers

Am using KDE Mint Serena

With Cinnamon, my touch screen worked better than the finger pad.

I dual booted with Win 10 and had no problems that way.

I used it mainly for timelapse photos using DarkTable.

Thanks for the follow up.

Cheers.

I figured it out.  Scrolling only works with two fingers.  Pinch to zoom works but is delayed.  Still usable.  Less delay with chrome than firefox.
