My HP8 tablet no longer operates with the Sonos wireless music system, due to old software Android 4.2.2.
How can I upgrade to 4.3 or even better 4.4? I already did a factory reset and downloaded the 4.3 update software onto a micro SD card. I only use the tablet for the Sonos controller, so with present operationg system the tablet is of no use to me anymore. Please tell me.

Hi
I've had the same problem. "update.zip" was not shown on the external SD Card form the System Recovery Menu.
My solution:
I've copied the update.zip to the internal stroage /root/download/ and to the external SD Card /root/.
First reboot into the "recovery menu" I've selected "update from internal storage" and selected the update.zip file.
Second and third reboot into the "recovery menu" I've selected "update from external storage" and now it was possible to select the update.zip file.
Now my HP 8 1401 runs Android 4.4.x.
Note:
I took me some time to upgrade, but it works, allthough slow.
It takes quite a while to start up, so better not to switch the device off.
Greetings,
Ton.
