EasyWMA allows you to convert wma, wmv audio, asf and ogg vorbis files to aiff, mp3, m4a or wav so that you can play your favorite songs in iTunes or any other player on your Mac. EasyWMA can be helpful if you need to play wma files on your iPod, or if you need to convert files created by your Olympus voice recorder.

Follow this link. This works well on a Mac. Converts WAV to MP3 quite nicely. Inexpensive.

Hi there,

I found a way to export VoiceMemo files (from my Treo 680) to MP3.

Here's what you need: (freeware; find it via Google)
- Clie Picture Converter  (yes yes)
- Mobile Media Converter

1) Go to following folder on your PC:
C:\Program Files\palmOne\{name of your palm}\Backup

You'll find files like 5-3-08-15-082_Vpad.pdb

these are the VoicePad files;

2) copy the files you need to a new folder which I'll call C:/Test

3) Open Clie Picture Converter, and drag the files from C:/Test to it.
New files with .JPG extension will appear in your folder.

4) Rename these JPG files to .AMR files.

5) use Mobile Media Converter to convert the .AMR files to .MP3 files

6) Lay back, smile, and enjoy the rest of your day.  😉

Unfortunately, this didn't work for voice memo files recorded on my 755p.  I got the following error message from mobile media:

ffmpeg version CVS, build 3342336, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard
  configuration:  --enable-amr_nb --enable-amr_wb --enable-memalign-hack --enable-mingw32
  built on Jan  7 2006 15:30:47, gcc: 3.4.2 (mingw-special)
C:\. . .\1.AMR: Unknown format

Okay, I did it!  Here's how:

First, follow your steps 1-4, but rename the file with a .qcp extention rather than .amr

Then, use www.media-convert.com -- a free online converter -- to convert the .qcp to a .mp3 (or any other format you prefer).

THEN you can enjoy the rest of your day!

We should all contact Palm, though, and suggest they add a converter in the Voice Memo program to make this easier.  It seems like there's a lot of folks out there who need this functionality.

Good news - things just got easier!  I tried transferring the the .qcp file to my laptop and uploading it straight to Media-Convert.com without using Clie and it works!

Good job. - Winamp might be able to do that as well, I think.

From an article which informs us what QCP format is, I learn that:

The QCP file format is used in some old cellular telephone to play ringtone or record voice. This format is based on RIFF, similar as WAV format. The first 4 byte is "RIFF", and bytes 8 through 12 is "QLCM" which means this format is designed by Qualcomm.

QCP files are typically encoded in QCELP, EVRC or 4GV codec. They have high compression rate, low bit rate and low quality. They are fit for voice, but not fit for music.

To convert QCP to MP3, WAV, etc, you'd better to turn to the third party software.

The articles also tells us how to convert QCP to MP3, WAV, etc.
