I have purchased my laptop on 09th September 2019 in chennai but the warranty had been activated by 14th August 2019 itslef. Why it got preactivated before the purchase date ? Can I assume this is an used product ?

Hi:
The PC was not used.
For whatever reason, HP starts the warranty clock ticking the minute the PC leaves the assembly plant.
So you have a recently made notebook because usually several months are gone from the warranty.
To correct the warranty start and end dates, you can try the online warranty dispute process at the link below...

...or you can contact HP support in your country and speak to a customer services rep to get the warranty start and end dates adjusted.
