ELITEPAD 1000 G2

HELP. I need to reinstall the OS for this tablet but I don't have the key code. Is there somewhere I can download the OEM software. I want to know if there is a windows 10 OEM for the tablet, ElitePad 1000 G2

The product specs indicate that the tablet could have come with one of the following operating systems:

  • Windows 8.1 Pro 64
  • Windows 8.1 64
  • Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry 64

If it came with either of the first two operating systems, you can download the Windows 8.1 ISO file from the link below.

Download Windows 8.1 Disc Image (ISO File) (microsoft.com)

Use the free Rufus utility to transfer the ISO file to a USB flash drive so that it is bootable.

Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way

Set up the Rufus menu exactly as you see it in the illustration for Windows setups.

The tablet's product key is encrypted in the BIOS and if the tablet came with W8.1 or W8.1 Pro, Windows will automatically detect the product key, install and then activate after you are connected to the internet.

Then you can install the drivers and available software from the tablet's support page.

If the tablet had previously been upgraded to W10 then you can make a bootable W10 USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below:

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

Boot from the installation media.

You will be asked to select the version of W10 you want to install.

You have to install the version of W10 the tablet had been previously upgraded to (Home or Pro).

Then you will be asked to enter a product key.

Select the 'I don't have a product key' option and W10 will install and then activate after you are connected to the internet.

Then you can install the drivers and available software from the support page I posted above.
