I am having the same problem as the individual on this forum. I do not have the Device Settings tab option so I cannot turn off the tap to click function. The driver for the touchpad is not listed for me to update, so I am not able to follow the directions you sent to update it. Can you help me?

Hello,
The model of my computer is HP Envy X360 Convertible.
The operating system I am using is Windows 10.
I am unable to turn off the tap to click function on my computer's TouchPad. When I go to "Mouse Properties", there is no tab labeled "TouchPad" so I am not able to click "Disable".
I have not made any hardware or software changes.
I have not done any troubleshooting steps.
Thank you!
Amy

Thank you for the information.
I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
-
In the Windows search box, type TouchPad.
From the results list click TouchPad settings.
-
Click Additional settings.
-
Open the ClickPad Settings.
-
Click to highlight Clicking. If the checkbox next to Clicking does not contain a check mark, click the checkbox until a check mark displays to enable clicking.
-
Click the Settings icon
to adjust clicking settings.
-
Customize one-finger, two-finger, three-finger, and corner click actions by clicking on the down icon
to open the click action menu for each item. Scroll through the menu to make your selection. Some selections required additional information. If the Configure button is enabled after your selection, click Configure and follow the instructions.
-
Click the Close button.
-
Click the down icon
next to Clicking, and then click Right Button Zone.
-
Click the Settings icon
to adjust the right-click button zone .
A window displays showing a green area where the ClickPad recognizes a right-click.
-
Hover the cursor over the small black dot on the left side of the green box until a double-sided arrow displays, and then drag the mouse left to expand the right-click zone.
-
Click Close to return to the ClickPad properties.
-
Click Apply to apply your changes, and then click OK to exit the properties screen.

Thanks for the information! However, in Step 3 I do not have the tab that says "ClickPad Settings" so I cannot progress after Step 2. Would you be able to give me any other recommendations please?
Thank you,
Amy

I recommend you uninstall the touchpad driver from the device manager and then download and install it from the below.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
Here is how it is done.
- Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
- Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
- On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
- When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.
NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!
Cheers!
