HP Recommended

I inherited this device. It's old, I know. Is it worth anything? Don't know if there is data on it. I've plugged it in to charge the battery and the only thing the screen shows is the Cingular animated "X". I've tried pressing the reset button, bottom right with a paper clip and holding down the on/off button at the same time. No change. ideas?  I'd like to make sure there isn't any data on it, and sell it (maybe for parts?)  Any recommendations are much appreciated.

Additionally, I've got the original box, and all of the accessories. Pristine condition. Cradle, power cable etc. Extra battery (I think).
