hp pavilion 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

the insert key is stuck on the laptop and it is causing all sorts of problems. if i press the shift key on my external keyboard, i get a long line of commandprompt that comes up. i cannot disable the keyboard and if i uninstall the keyboard it resets itself and the problem comes back. i cannot stop the insert key from running by itself. any suggestions would be appreciated.

@MrAllanson Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to disable the laptop internal keyboard.

I would suggest you contact local stores and replace the keyboard or replace the insert key.

If you really want to disable the internal keyboard, you have to disable through the registry.

You can refer to the below link.

(HP does not recommend upgrades as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed in HP articles are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion)
