whats going on . so it wont let me post ,but im having the same issues. i got this thing about a week and a half ago with no charger, so i used a regular one and of course it said theres not enough juice to use the one it came with, after going to nearly every store that would have a 2.0 volt charger didnt have them . so i finally caved in and ordered it from amazon, after every store telling me to just get it from there its easier. so i got the thing yesterday , but the touchpad died a week ago. it was working fine it had some battery life so i used it all day an the next day it was on 1% n died. so now the thing i plugged it in to my phone to make sure the thing worked first an it did so, i plug the TP in and its been on the thing since yeseterday and will not even budge. blink or anything. i twisted thte piece off the charger made sure i heard the click, i did the combo buttons, i put a book in the middle thinkin it would work, plugged it into my laptop NOTHING. anybody no what the hell t can be? it was working fine its **bleep** near brand new, and the charger works. i wanna break the **bleep** thing. any help would be greatly apprciated! thanks !!

If you've only had it for a week and a half and it does not work, perhaps you can return it for a refund?  If it did not come with its own charger, it doesn't sound like it was "near brand new'.

Assuming you purchased a charger specifically made for the TouchPad, and not just a webOS phone charger?  Some users here have reported getting a non-starting TouchPad to work by using a different charger (as long as it has adequate power output).

I have had occasional problems with one of my TouchPads refusing to start.  I bring it to the office and put it on another TouchPad charger, and that will get it to start.

Obviously, no one here can diagnose your TP if there is a hardware issue such as a faulty charging connector, etc.  Sadly, HP no longer provides repair services for webOS devivces.  All we can do is point to the things which have worked for other users.  It sounds like your patience has worn thin, but try to persevere and go through the various threads, try everything again and again.

I was able to resurrect my recently failed TouchPad by using "TPDebrick-v004"!

NOTE TO OTHER USERS: this is a difficult, though do-able solution.  There are many caveats associated with performing this procedure, and HP does not in any way support radical fixes like this.  It involves loading Ubuntu onto a PC, then running the program provided by the developer using command-line editing.

Please try all the other suggestions in this thread first - button combinations that force a reset, a different charging cable, checking the condition of your charging transformer, lower mA chargers, etc.

Why not wait a couple of hours? Your device's battery is too low to even power the LCD, so wait until there's enough power for the LCD to turn on. We'll talk after that.

I may offer links to homebrew solutions. HP does not officially support homebrew solutions, and you use them at your own risk.

Have you charged it for several hours with the supplied charger?

So my Touchpad was a nice machine, a couple of years ago it got a taste of wine (of which it turns out it isn't compatible...) spillage and died.

Ever since it wont turn on, has never turned on, and is gathering dust. Which is a shame.

I always wanted to get it working again, and after HP's email that the root cert is going to be out of date on the 23rd, would like to get it running.

I've tried all suggestions:

- Different cables

- Plugged into PC / into mains

- Various button combinations

- TPDeBrick

When it is plugged into a computer, in Windows the Device Manager does not find it, in Linux lsusb does not list it.

Would anyone have any suggestions?

I did open it up to have a look, but no obvious liquid persists, no liquid stickiness around the exposed circuits.

Thanks
