I have a palm Tungsten E2 that I cannot hot sync using Windows 8. I have installed, what I think is the latest driver from palm and the program installed, but still can't hot sync. There is no Bluetooth capabilities either.

Yes my E2 HotSynced fine on my old computer, no problems.

The error message was that there was no connection.

I went in to make sure that the Palm program was looking to sync via USB as that is what I am using so that isn't the issue.

Please view this post at the beginning of this section concerning installation of the Aceeca drivers in Win8.

Hello schmid, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

At the top of this section of the Forum you'll find a post titled, "64 bit Windows USB drivers for Palm Desktop".

This contains a driver you need if running a 64 bit OS on your computer (which since you are asking about Win8 is most likely what you have.)

Follow the instructions in the thread to install the driver and give HotSync a try using your cable.

I didn't see the driver mentioned in the post. I am unable to hotsync my Tungsten E2 to my Windows 8 (64 bit) computer. Bluetooth makes a brief connection but ends immediately with a variety of messages about serial ports. I also have a usb cradle but that won't even try to make a connection. Is there any way to get the info off my handheld and on to the PC? If not, are there any PC applications that will accept Palm data? Very frustrating!

In the post, there is a clearly labled link - "Aceeca Driver Download".

This page will open, with a big green button that says "Download Now".

Ok, just to clarify before I add anymore any unnecessary stuff to my new computer with WIN 8.1 (that is, besides all the random apps the manufacturer included)

1 -the original software cd for my palm tungsten e2.

2 - the more recent Palm desktop 6.2 download

3- the Aceeca 64-bit Palm driver download

Do I need to load all three of these pieces of software on my laptop, just 2 & 3,  just 3 or did I miss something?

HP Recommended

Just 2 & 3.

I tried downloading Palm's 6.2 program and Aceeca's driver but I didn't get a connection.  Any other suggestions?

Did you install the driver correctly?  Simply downloading the driver will not accomplish the task.

Did the E2 HotSync normally before trying the Win8 computer?

What error message(s) did you see?
