i have a Samsung laptop, Windows 8.1, i7 processor, I am trying to synch my Palmone Tungsten E2. I purchased the required Kinvio bluetooth USB, windows downloaded the drivers, I loaded the disc that came with the Kinvio and loaded that. Then downloaded the 6.2 program from hppalmone website. Even though I have an up and running internet connection the 6.2 program keeps saying it cannot find an internet connection. I tried running Mozilla and the windows innternet browsers and it still can't find the internet connection. The computer keeps showing a strong connection, how do I get the 6.2 to find the connection?

Hi! OK - I'm no expert on this - so this is just a thought . . . mine never is able to find the internet connection either so my hypotheses is that its an old link to a Palm site that no longer exists. I just bypass it. You already have the most current Palm Desktop because you pulled it from the HP/Palm website - so there is nothing to update.
Just a hypotheses - hopefully someone with real knowledge will reply to you. Deb

Deb is 100% correct - don't worry about it! 🙂
BTW, you don't have to use a BlueTooth device to HotSync with Win8.1 - you can use the USB cable due to the Aceeca company providing drivers!
See this post.

HI Again Dean!
Thanks! Gee - at least I was able to contribute something!
Do you know if Docs To Go will run on Windows 8.1? The little problem I'm having is that according to DataViz, any DocsToGo past Version 8 or 9 I think will not run on Windows Vista (although I did run it reasonable fine for about a year - no idea why it worked). But Docs To Go Version 8 is the LAST one that will run effectively on the Tungston E2. I bought Version 11 a long time ago and it will NOT run on theT-E2.
As you may have noticed in one of my other posts - my sole reasons for using the Palm are
DateBook 6 from Pimlico and Docs To Go from DataViz. Sigh!
The software upgrades are seeming to slowly, one piece at a time - take away all our Palm options. Sigh again! Any other suggestions you have are always appreciated! Deb

AFAIK, Docs To Go is unable to run on any Windows OS since Vista.
smkranz has reported recently that a Palm emulator that runs on Android can use Docs To Go.
StyleTap is the program, but it costs $50 to purchase!!! 😮
I made the jump from PalmOS to webOS and finally to Android. Pretty happy with it so far. 🙂

HI Dean!
Ok - not sure I followed all of that . . .
What is AFAIK & SMKRANZ?
$50 is reasonable given all the functionality I would get (get back).
So then what do you use as a calender, To do, & excel spreadsheets on your Android???
Pimlico has Pimlical for Android which is SUPER, but you have to practically be a programmer to keep it running. I follow thier Yahoo group and ther are STILL lost of posts for things that crash. Their desktop is awesome too, but likewise - higher knowledge & patience is needed. And I have my email in to Style Tap to see what versions of which things they can run.
Thanks! Deb

Google Calendar, I don't use To Do apps, and there are many apps to read and edit Excel spreadsheets in Android.
You can export your Palm databases fairly easy to Android. I have several Android devices, and when you make a new entry on one of them, it appears almost immediately on the rest!
I used an app called "Kingsoft Office" that came free with the Slate 10 HD I'm using, and it worked great for me as a Wine Club chairman. I needed to keep track of the Christmas party attendees, their meal choices, guests attending, etc.
Kingsoft allowed me to save, edit, and retrieve the spreadsheet from any cloud server I chose (DropBox), and as info came in via email and text I had instant access to the file to update it!
