Product: Tablet Stream 8

When I turn my tablet on, the screen gives me a user ID which is my email ID and asks for a password. I have tried to recover the password using this email ID on the HP support site and it tells me that the user ID is unknown.

Could you give me some more details please?

 

What is the operating system, windows 8.1 with Bing or windows 10?

Are  you using a Microsoft Account to sign in with or a Local Account?

 

It sounds like its setup with a Microsoft Acct (same account you sign in to access outlook.com email) and asking you for the that password.

You can reset that password by going to https://account.live.com/password/reset from any computer.

Follow the prompts to reset the pw.

 

If you only have a Local Acct, the only thing I can do is advise you to do a recovery (re-install Windows).
