elite x2 1012
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an Elite X2 1012 and I cannot conrol the "auto rotation" feature. There is no hardware button and I cannot see any key combination.

Further when I go to the Display Settings section of Windows 10 the button for "rotation lock" is greyed out - I cannot select it.

Any suggestions?

Shahman,

I was wondering if your keyboard base is attached when you try to access the auto rotation setting?

It should be greyed out when attached and only re-enabled when detached.

Sometimes, once detached, you may have to rotate the tablet to portrait. Then the auto rotate button works.

Have you tried this yet?

That was it. Thanks.

I did not realize the keyboard was having an impact, but I guess that makes sense. There is only one way to use the machine when the keyboard is attached.

It is a design flaw though - if you cannot toggle the "auto rotate" control when the keyboard is attached, then the feature should also not be functional when the keyboard is attached, i.e. no rotation when the keyboard is attached.

Not sure what you mean. My X2 screen will not rotate while the keyboard base is attached. Thats why the auto rotate button is greyed out. Thats how the tablet hybrids are designed.

I could not use the keyboard if I turn the tablet sideways to portrait while its attached anyway. I guess if I layed on the couch sideways to type a letter, I might. lol

But Im glad you got it figured out.

Cheers.
