Product: HP Pavillion
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Plugged in new external drive.  PC won't find it to install.

HI@Claudi47, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

We understand that the Extenal DVD Writer is not working.

 

Check with Windows is up to date?

 

Check with BIOS update?

 

Chek on diffrent USB slot ?

You can try updating the drivers using HP support assistant.

 

Refer to this article to know more information about using HP support assistants.
